Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, aged 78, was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., on Monday after developing a fever. His deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, stated that Clinton is undergoing testing and observation but remains in good spirits and appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.

Clinton’s current health concern is not considered an emergency, and he is expected to be released from the hospital as soon as Tuesday, in time for Christmas.

Throughout his post-presidential years, Clinton has faced several health challenges, primarily related to his cardiovascular system. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery after experiencing prolonged chest pains and shortness of breath. The following year, he had surgery for a partially collapsed lung. In 2010, he had two stents implanted in a coronary artery. In October 2021, Clinton was hospitalized for a urological infection that spread to his bloodstream, requiring a six-day stay in a California hospital.

Despite these health issues, Clinton has maintained an active public life. He recently campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential bid and published a memoir titled “Citizen: My Life After the White House.” Additionally, he plans to release a thriller novel, “The First Gentleman,” co-authored with James Patterson, next year.

Clinton’s hospitalization has drawn attention, but reports indicate that he is alert and in good spirits. His medical team continues to monitor his condition, and further updates are anticipated as he undergoes evaluation and treatment.
