“I think they are having an affair,” Julia blurted out. “What should I do?”
“Julia, don’t be ridiculous, they not cheating on you. I swear it. What makes you think that?”
“I have my reasons,” she replied. “You’ll see, I’ll prove it!”
Julia, unable to contain her anger, went back to Kate’s house and peered through the window upon hearing her sister talking to her husband on the phone. “Julia just phoned me,” James’s voice came through. “She’s really concerned, she thinks we’re having an affair.”
Ben nodded. “So, she is unaware of everything.”
“That’s great!” Kate replied, her tone filled with excitement.
“Our plan is working,” Ben added.
Julia reached her breaking point, she walked into the room and directly addressed her husband and her sister.
“You lying, cheating traitors! How could you do this to me?”
Ben rose from his seat and attempted to soothe her, imploring her to allow him to clarify the situation. “Clarify what? That my spouse is being unfaithful with my own sister?” Julia wailed, struggling to contain her emotions.
Ben reiterated to Julia, “It’s not what you’re assuming. I went on a trip to prepare a surprise for you.”
Julia expressed her bitterness, questioning, “A surprise? Meeting at Kate’s house every day is considered a surprise?”
Ben affirmed confidently, “I had intentions of fulfilling your dream. You’ve always mentioned wanting to own a coffee shop, haven’t you?”
Kate walked up with a stack of papers in her hand. “Ben used his inheritance to purchase a coffee shop for you. We’ve been preparing the business plan and handling all the legal documents here.”
Julia was left speechless. “A coffee shop? For me?”
Ben agreed and mentioned that he required assistance from Kate and James to execute his plan. He showed them the necessary documents, such as the lease and renovation plans, to ensure everything was in order before involving them.
Julia was in shock when she heard the news. A coffee shop just for her! Owning a place like that had always been her biggest dream, and now her husband was actually making it happen.
“Oh my goodness, Ben… I’m so sorry. I thought…I thought you were…”
Ben said, “I know,” as he hugged her tightly. “I should have told you, but I wanted it to be a surprise, I wanted to see your face when I handed you the keys.”
“I’m such an idiot,” Julia sobbed into his chest. “I’m so sorry.”
“Shh, it’s okay. I understand why you felt that way. But Julia, I love you. I would never betray you.”
The next day, Julia, Ben, Kate, and James signed the last documents. Julia was thrilled to have her own coffee shop. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee brought back memories of her husband’s love.
They turned the coffee shop into a special place, where dreams came true and love and trust were the key elements in every dish.
