We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Maryanne Trump Barry, the older sister of former President Donald J. Trump. Maryanne, a remarkable woman, lived a full and impactful life before her death at the age of 86.
Maryanne was discovered in her New York City apartment on November 13th, where first responders were called to assist her. Despite their best efforts, she had already passed away, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication.
Throughout her illustrious career, Maryanne served as a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Her commitment to justice and her invaluable contributions to the legal system will forever be remembered. President Ronald Reagan appointed her to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1983, and later, President Bill Clinton appointed her to the Court of Appeals in 1999.
In her later years, Maryanne faced challenges with poise and resilience. She underwent an investigation into alleged fraudulent tax and financial transactions involving her father and siblings. Although the investigation reached no conclusive results, it prompted Maryanne to retire gracefully from her position in 2019.
While the details of Maryanne’s relationship with her younger brother, Donald, at the time of her passing remain unknown, it is worth mentioning that she shared her concerns about his lack of principles with her niece, Mary. Whatever their differences, the loss of Maryanne marks the third sibling lost by Donald Trump, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Trump family during this difficult time.
