According to doctors, he remembered little beyond having his seatbelt on during the crash. Lee, who suffered a fractured left shoulder and head injuries, had been stationed at the back of the Boeing 737-800 and was in charge of passenger service during the flight.

According to reports, the second survivor was being treated for scalp lacerations and ankle fractures at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. While both survivors are expected to recover physically, the emotional scars of surviving such a catastrophe are likely to linger.

Investigators are racing to determine the cause of the crash. Initial reports suggest the plane’s right engine was struck by a bird during its approach to the airport, damaging the landing gear and forcing the pilot to issue a mayday call.

Ali’s father Richard supposedly had issues from his own childhood which made him a little bit different from others.

He had survived a terrible childhood in an orphanage, running away at the age of 16 to go to sea. He would later study at an art school in Munich, Germany.

“Daddy was frightened and really, really angry. He never forgave his real parents for giving him up,” Ali explained, saying said her father’s adult life was spent “suppressing the rage that covered all his hurt.”

Money was short for their family, too. Frances and Richard, together with Ali and her brother, Richard Jr, had to move into a house on a Pound Ridge wilderness preserve which they shared with an elderly couple.

“There were no doors; we shared the kitchen and bathroom with them,” Ali said. “It was utter lack of privacy. It was horrible.”

Mom Francis worked with several commercial-art assignments and supported the family. At the same time, Richard had a hard time selling his paintings, and as a result became very frustrated. Ali’s brother Richard became a victim for his anger at home.

“On good days he was great, but on bad days he was horrendous,” she recalled. “Daddy would beat my brother up, badly. I was witness to it, and it was terrible.”

Ali was the daughter of artists, and she knew that she, too, wanted to go into a creative line of work as she got older. She earned a scholarship at the prep school Rosemary Hall, and in 1956, she moved to study at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

By the age of 22, Ali MacGraw moved to New York and got her first job as an assistant editor at Harper’s Bazaar, working with photographers as an assistant.

Fashion work in New York

Fashion editor Diana Vreeland hired Ali as, what she recalls as, a “flunkie”. Ever seen the film The Devil Wears Prada? Well, it was pretty much that.

“It was ‘Girl! Get me a pencil!’,” MacGraw recalled.

The future Hollywood celebrity worked her job as an assistant for several months. Then, about six months in, fashion photographer Melvin Sokolsky noticed her beautiful looks, and Ali MacGraw was hired as a stylist,and given a better salary. She’d end up staying in that position for six years.

“I don’t know where she got this work ethic, but Ali would come in at eight a.m., and many times I’d come back at one in the morning and she would still be doing things for the next day,” Ruth Ansel, a former art director of Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar recalls.

Ali was great as a stylist. But soon, she was asked to work in front of the cameras as a model. It didn’t take long before she was on magazine covers all over the world, even appearing in television commercials. For thing led to another, and Ali tumbled headfirst into the profession of acting.

She had been sketched nude by Salvador Dali a couple of years earlier. But when the surrealist artist started sucking her toes, MacGraw decided that she’d rather be an actress than a model.

Ali went straight from an unknown stylist and into the world of cinema, and boy, did she do it with a bang.

She was untutored in the art of film, which gave her acting another dimension. Her natural beauty was stunning, and the audience loved her.

Following a small role in A Lovely Way to Die (1968), she was asked to star in the 1969 film Goodbye, Columbus. It turned out to be a great call, with MacGraw receiving a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer – Female. The following year, she got her big international breakthrough with a role that would pretty much sum up her career.

Ali MacGraw had received a script from her agent. She’d read it and wept twice because of how much she loved it. She decided she really wanted a part in it, and got herself a meeting with the film’s producer Robert Evans – who at the time was Paramount Picture’s head of production – at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge. Not only did Evans think she was perfect for the part in the movie Love Story, he absolutely fell in love with her.

MacGraw – playing the role of Jenny – acted alongside Ryan O’Neal in the movie Love Story. The American romantic drama film, in which Ali played a working-class college student, became a smash hit.

Love Story hit the cinemas in 1970, and wow did the audience cherish it. It became the No. 1 film in the United States, and at the time, it was the sixth highest grossing movie in history in the US and Canada.

MacGraw earned an Academy Award nomination for her role, and the film itself earned her another win and five Academy Award Nominations. She also won herself a second Golden Globe as Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

Film producer Robert Evans not only loved her on screen, he had fallen in love with her in real life, and that love was reciprocated. In 1969, the couple tied the knot, and two years later, they welcomed their son, Josh Evans.

Ali MacGraw was the hot new star of the 1970s, but her private life and marriage with Evans would soon come to an end. Steve McQueen had visited their home to ask her to star alongside him in The Getaway, and the two Hollywood stars clicked right away.

“I looked in those blue eyes, and my knees started knocking,” MacGraw recalled. “I became obsessed.”

MacGraw and McQueen had an affair, and she soon left Evans to live with the actor in Malibu, along with her son Josh.

“Steve was this very original, principled guy who didn’t seem to be part of the system, and I loved that,” she said.

But after a while, Ali realized that Steve McQueen had his own problems. Following his father abandoning his mother, a then-14-year-old Steve was sent to a school for delinquent children. MacGraw said he never trusted women after that.

He didn’t like that she worked and had her own career. For a while, Ali stayed home to raise their sons. But her husband’s demands were something Ali simply couldn’t accept in the long run.

Not only that, but he’d explode if she even looked at another man. He also wanted her to sign a prenuptial agreement, promising not to ask for anything if they’d divorce. She abided by the agreement when they did divorce in 1978.

“I couldn’t even go to art class because Steve expected his ‘old lady’ to be there every night with dinner on the table,” she recalled.

“Steve’s idea of hot was not me. He liked blond bimbos, and they were always around.”

This was the start of a pretty dark time in MacGraw’s life. She arrived on set to shoot the 1978 film Convoy both drunk and high, which prompted her to quit drugs.

Leaving show business

At the same time, several of her movies, such as Players (1970) and Just Tell Me What You Want (1980) flopped.

“It’s brutal for women,” MacGraw told The Guardian about returning to show business in the late 1970s.

“I don’t think there’s a woman over 40 who’s ever been conspicuously in the spotlight who doesn’t get sick of the kind of questioning the media lays on you, the fashion industry, all of it. It’s cruel.”

MacGraw had a short stint as a Hollywood superstar actress. Thereafter, she decided to start working in interior design instead, but didn’t fully give up on her show business career. She appeared in the television miniseries The Winds of War (1983) and China Rose (1985), but soon, her life would change for the worse.

Ali MacGraw simply couldn’t get any work in film, and she thought she was useless. At the same time, she didn’t feel complete unless she had a partner, describing being in love like “a drug high”.

She felt alone and desperate, and drank heavily. In 1986, she checked herself into the Betty Ford Clinic in California.

“The worst stuff happened when I drank,” she said. “I lost my judgment; I fancied other women’s husbands.”

Family tragedies

Her son Josh Evans was 15 at the time and had a hard time watching his mother suffering. MacGraw spent 30 days in group therapy and came out a stronger person.

In 1993, another family tragedy occurred when her house in California burnt down due to a wildfire. She then decided to move from Los Angeles and settled in a town near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

“I live in a little village north of Santa Fe, New Mexico called Tesuque,” she revealed last year.

According to McGraw, her neighbors don’t see her as a former Hollywood star – instead they appreciate all the community work she’s been doing.

For example, she has been doing volunteer work at the annual International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Ali MacGraw left acting, but in 2006, she found herself once again on stage. She reunited with her Love Story co-actor Ryan O’Neal in the Broadway adaptation of the Danish film Festen.

Outside of the Broadway show, MacGraw’s been out of the spotlight the last couple of decades. She’s put her heart into work for animal rights … and produced plenty of successful yoga videos.

Speaking to the Herald-Tribune in 2019, MacGraw stated that she’s still open to new adventures and work.

“One of the lucky things for someone my age is that I’m open and curious,” MacGraw said. “There’s not just one thing I love to do and feel bereft if I can’t. But I know that I’m not happy when I’m not doing something creative.”

Even though Ali left acting, her family still has a foot in the business. Son Josh Evans is an actor and director, and he’s made a great name for himself in Hollywood.

Being the child of Hollywood celebrities Robert Evans and Ali MacGraw certainly came with plenty of pressure.

But for Josh Evans, born in January of 1971, it was pretty much show business he wanted to do from the start.

The first job he ever wanted to do, however, wasn’t in the film business. He didn’t dream about working as an actor, but it was just one of those things that happened.

In 1989, Josh Evans had a small part in Dream a Little Dream (1989), but he wanted to do more. As a teenager with nothing to lose, he used to go to the manager’s office to see the breakdowns of movies being made.

That’s when he met someone he recognized in famous director Oliver Stone. He was making Born on the Fourth of July at the time, starring Tom Cruise. And Josh wanted in.

“At the time I just knew [Oliver Stone] from Platoon. He was making a movie with Tom Cruise and there was a role for the little brother. I wanted to play that part, so he got me a meeting with Oliver Stone,” Josh Evans recalls.

“When I sat with him, Oliver asked ‘Oh, you think you look like Tom Cruise?’. Now knowing him, I realize he was mocking me, but I said, ‘Yeah, I do.’ So, he said, ‘We’ll see what happens.’ Four months later, I got a call to audition and I got the part. It was very exciting and you could feel how special that movie was going to be.”

Since then, Josh has had a great career both acting and directing. He starred in the biographic film The Doors in 1991 and since, he’s been both acting and directing.

With eight films on his resume as a director, he actually had Michael Madsen starring in his 2015 film Death in the Desert. But what does he like best?

“I am definitely more comfortable on the side of the camera that does not show myself,” Josh Evans says.

“If an interesting opportunity presents itself, I am not opposed to it. I think there are other people out there who are more qualified and want it more than I do. As far as directing and telling my stories, I would do that for free, whereas acting is more of a job, but I enjoy it once I do it.”

Josh is a really handsome man, and the resemblance to her mother Ali MacGraw truly is great, especially in his big wonderful eyes.

In 2019, his father – Ali’s ex-husband – Robert Evans passed away. However, the family had the great memory of being together for him when he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.

Josh has been married twice. In October 2012, he married American singer and musician Roxy Saint. By then, their son Jackson was two years old – Grandma Ali MacGraw loves spending time with her wonderful family.

“He’s so wonderful,” MacGraw said about her son. “He’s my favorite human being on the planet, and he goes out with a girl I’m nuts about. Their relationship is so much about, among other things, friendship and respect.”

The Justice Department’s Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, released a much-anticipated report on Thursday, shedding light on the FBI’s use of confidential human sources (CHS) in connection with the January 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. The report reveals significant shortcomings in intelligence management and coordination, raising questions about the FBI’s readiness and oversight during the events surrounding that day.

Horowitz’s investigation scrutinized the FBI’s deployment of confidential informants leading up to and during January 6, uncovering that 26 such sources were present at the Capitol—far more than the three officially assigned to monitor events.

Nine remained in non-restricted areas and engaged in no illegal activity.The report confirms that none of these sources were prosecuted, nor were they authorized by the FBI to commit or incite unlawful actions. There is no evidence that informants played leadership roles in organizing the day’s events or directly incited violence.

In 2019, Consuelos and Ripa shared on Live With Kelly and Ryan about the time Lola accidentally walked in on them having sex, with Ripa adding that Lola even “made eye contact with her.”

“She shuts the door and you hear, ‘You just ruined my birthday! And my life! And I used to see in color and now everything is gray,’” Ripa said.

When they headed to brunch later on in the day, Lola was quick to bring up the incident.

Consuelos recalled: “She goes, ‘You guys have no chill. You act like you’re 20, but you’re not.’”

The Robinson family bought a house in an isolated area, where they wanted to build a farm.
Mrs. Robinson was pregnant and had to give birth to her second child, a boy, in 4 months.

As soon as they moved into the new house, they started arranging the child’s room to be ready when the new family member was born.

Because they lived in an apartment where the owner did not allow them to have a dog, the Robinsons now wanted at least one puppy, being animal lovers.

The two spouses, together with their 6-year-old son, Matias, paid a visit to an animal shelter to choose a dog. They wanted a puppy that would not be aggressive and that would grow up with the children on the farm.
After visiting the paddocks and learning the sad stories of several dogs, they were very undecided about which dog to choose.

At the end of the visit, they passed a 4-year-old pit bull named Benson. He stood back with his tail between his legs and his head bowed, he seemed to have completely lost confidence in people.

The Robinson family wanted to know Benson’s story, and the animal shelter volunteers told them that Benson had a very sad life. He was used in dog fights and then abandoned on the streets, where volunteers found him.

After a period in the dog shelter, Benson was adopted by a couple, but after only 2 weeks he was brought back to the dog shelter on the grounds that Benson is aggressive with his owners and has behavioral disorders.

Even though the volunteers did not recommend that Benson be adopted by a family with children, Mr. Robinson insisted on giving Benson a chance so they adopted him. Even the road to the car was difficult because Benson was not used to walking on a leash, but in the end, they got home.

In the early days, Benson was very withdrawn, shy and suspicious. But over time, Benson began to adjust and form a bond with all members of the family, especially Matias.

After Mrs. Robinson gave birth, they brought the baby home and introduced him to Benson. He smelled the baby and licked his face lightly. From that moment on, the owners knew that Benson was a wonderful dog and that the two would get along well.

One night when the baby was only two months old, the Robinsons were awakened in the middle of the night by Benson’s loud barking. He barked incessantly and tried to reach the baby’s crib, but could not get past the crib’s protective bars, He started bitting the crib trying to reach the baby.

At first, the Robinsons were scared, thinking that Benson was trying to hurt the baby, but when they took the baby in their arms, they noticed that the baby was no longer breathing.

They rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors were able to resuscitate him. The doctor told the parents that the baby would have died if he had been on cardiorespiratory arrest for more than 30 minutes.
Benson became a hero and proved that nothing is accidental. The Robinson family saved Benson, a dog no one gave a chance to, and Benson saved their baby’s life.

Laura Hillier was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 13 years old. She had been cancer-free for four years. Unfortunately, the cancer returned.

Laura, a gifted and well-liked student at Nelson High School in Ontario, Canada, succumbed to this terrible disease on January 20, 2016.

Later that day, her family shared the following information with their many friends and followers on the Hope for Laura Facebook page:

“She fought bravely and all of you would have been so proud of her. Her poise, her courage, her strength and her pure spirit shone through right until the end.”

Laura’s family, students, and professors chose to celebrate her life by using colorful markers to create something beautiful on the surface of the casket.

Laura’s family, friends, neighbors, teachers, classmates, medical staff, and coworkers joined together to turn her casket into a gorgeous yearbook to memorialize her life, contagious enthusiasm, and remarkable talent.

Heartfelt notes scribbled in various colors were scribbled all over the casket.

Laura’s stark white casket, which was adorned in colorful inscriptions, has gone viral. The inscriptions are heartfelt, intimate, and moving.

You were musical. You were artistic. You were understanding. You were my bestest friend.

Laura’s favorite color, purple, was also perfectly woven into her funeral service — from the beautiful flowers to the clothing worn by those in attendance, whether it be a scarf or tie.

Human remains linked to missing UK teen Jay Slater have been found in Tenerife, nearly four weeks after his disappearance. The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, went missing

following a night out.The Spanish Civil Guard confirmed that evidence strongly suggests the remains are Jay’s.

This tragic discovery came 29 days after he vanished, sparking an extensive search. Forensic investigations confirmed through fingerprint tests that the body was Jay’s, revealing multiple traumas from a fall in a rocky area.

The missing persons charity LBT Global, which supported Jay’s family, reported that his body was found near his clothing and personal items. The charity urged the public to respect the family’s need for privacy during this distressing time.

A friend, Brad Hargreaves, paid an emotional tribute, expressing his sorrow and saying that nothing will be the same without Jay. The Guardia Civil noted the discovery in the Masca area, an extremely inaccessible location. Despite suspending the large-scale search on June 29, efforts continued whenever possible. Jay’s family, supported by British Embassy officials, is now grappling with this devastating news.

Feeling much better but still not out of the woods, the girl decided to go for the gusto and completely relieve herself from the still-present pain of the gastro-fiend.

Brimming with confidence, she let out an unholy ripper, all of which lasted nearly four seconds. Everyone stopped eating and looked at one another. The father put down his fork, rose from his chair, looked at the dog, and shouted, “Max! For the love of God! Get away from there before she craps on you!!”

2. The Genius Shopper

As a butcher was shooing a dog from his shop, he saw a $10 bill and a note in the dog’s mouth, reading, “Five lamb chops, please.”

Amazed, he took the money, put a bag of chops in the dog’s mouth, and quickly closed the shop. He followed the dog and watched him wait for a green light, look both ways, and trot across the road to a bus stop

The dog checked the timetable and sat on the bench. When a bus arrived, he walked around to the front, looked at the number, then boarded the bus. The butcher followed, dumbstruck. As the bus traveled out into the suburbs, the dog took in the scenery.

After a while, he stood on his back paws to push the “Stop” bell, and the butcher followed him off the bus.

The dog ran up to a house and dropped his bag on the step. He went back down the path, lined up for a big sprint, and threw himself against the door. Whap! He did this again and again with no answer. So he jumped on a wall, walked around the garden, beat his head against a window, jumped off, and waited at the front door.

A big guy opened it and started cursing and shouting at the dog. The butcher ran up and screamed at the guy, “What the hell are you doing? This dog’s a genius!”

The owner responded, “Genius, my butt… It’s the second time this week he’s forgotten his keys!”

3. The Nap-Loving Visitor

An old, tired-looking dog wandered into a man’s yard. He could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of. The dog calmly came over to the man, who gave him a few pats on his head.

The dog then followed the man into his house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner, and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and the man let him out. The next day, the dog was back. He greeted the man in his yard, walked inside, and resumed his spot in the hall, again sleeping for about an hour. This continued on and off for several weeks.

Curious one day, the man pinned a note to the dog’s collar, “I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful, sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.”

The next day, the dog arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar, “He lives in a home with six children, two under the age of three; he’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?”

4. The Plasterer at the Pub

A dog walks into a bar and orders a pint of beer and a ham sandwich. The bartender looks at him and says, “Hang on! You’re a dog.”

“I see your eyes are working,” replies the dog.

“And you can talk!” exclaims the bartender.

“I see your ears are working, too,” says the dog. “Now, if you don’t mind, can I have my beer and my sandwich, please?”

Then one day, the circus comes to town. The ringmaster comes into the pub for a pint, and the bartender says to him, “You’re with the circus, aren’t you? Well, I know this dog that could be just brilliant in your circus. He talks, drinks beer, eats sandwiches, reads the newspaper, and everything!”

“Sounds marvelous,” says the ringmaster, handing over his business card. “Get him to give me a call.”

The fire erupted around midnight on Wednesday, March 20, at the family’s home on Guy Street. Inside, a family of eight (two parents and their six children), battled the flames that swiftly consumed their residence.

The Westmoreland County coroner has identified the victims as 27-year-old Tyler King and his children: seven-year-old Kyson John, six-year-old Kinzleigh John, three-year-old Keagan John, and one-month-old Korbyn John.

In a frantic race against the raging inferno, firefighters were able to rescue the mother, Miranda John, alongside two of her children, ten-year-old Kayden John and one-year-old Kash John. Currently, Miranda is in stable condition, with her sons fighting for their lives in the ICU in critical condition.

The scene was one of utter despair, as Jeannette’s Fire Chief Bill Frye described the night as incredibly sorrowful for the city. Chief Bill disclosed that upon arrival, the fire brigade faced significant challenges, including issues with water supply from a nearby hydrant that hampered their rescue efforts.

“Due to some complications, we were unable to get to everybody due to the progression of the fire on arrival,” Bill lamented, highlighting the dire circumstances faced by the responders.

The intensity of the fire not only devastated the King family home but also caused damage to neighboring properties. A local resident, Jack Mull, vividly recounted his attempts to assist the family amidst the chaos.

“I came outside on the porch and the whole front of the house was on fire,” Jack told reporters. His efforts to enter the home were thwarted by the overwhelming flames and heat. “I screamed at my daughter to call 911 and ran over and tried to get in downstairs but it was just too hot and too many flames.”

The Red Cross is providing assistance to those affected as the community begins the difficult journey towards healing

Family members are seeking solace and strength in their memories of the five who perished in the blaze. Miranda’s cousin, Natasha Reaggle, offered a poignant remembrance of each victim, painting a picture of a family bound by love and shared joy.

“A mother lost four of her beloved children and the love of her life,” Natasha shared, highlighting the deep bond between Miranda and her fiancé Tyler, a couple who shared “a love that most dream of” over the last 12 years. Tyler, remembered as an “amazing, kind-hearted person,” was known for his ever-present smile and gentle spirit.
