Lou Dobbs, a prominent political analyst and television host, passed away at the age of 78. Known for his influential roles at CNN and Fox News, Dobbs was a polarizing figure, particularly due to his outspoken views on various political matters.
Former President Donald Trump expressed his condolences on Truth Social, describing Dobbs as “an incredible talent” and “a friend and truly amazing reporter, journalist, and artist.” Trump added, “Lou was unique, and he loved our nation.”
Dobbs began his career in radio at KBLU in Arizona before transitioning to television in the mid-1970s, joining NBC’s King-TV in Seattle. He was among CNN’s original reporters, launching the business news program “Moneyline” in 1980. His tenure at CNN ended in 2009 amid controversies over his coverage of illegal immigration. In 2010, he began hosting “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Fox Business, continuing until its cancellation in 2021.
Fox News Media paid tribute to Dobbs, calling him “an amazing businessman with a gift for broadcasting” and acknowledging his significant contributions to cable news. He is survived by his wife, Debi, and their six children.
