The parents of Ryleigh Hillcoat-Bee, a three-year-old who died of a rare condition, are left outraged after learning their daughter’s life could be saved.The little girl suffered from rhabdomyolysis, a disorder that breaks down muscles. She died of complications from the condition that affects one in 200,000 people in the UK.

Coroner Alan Wilson for Blackpool and Fylde determined that the doctors who treated her failed to notice the “red flags” before discharging her from the hospital after a five-day stay.

They had missed opportunities to closely examine Ryleigh’s lack of mobility prior to her discharge. She passed away three months later.Doctors should have been aware that the girl’s deteriorating physical state could be linked with a neuromuscular problem.

According to reports, when she was admitted into Blackpool Victoria Hospital,
doctors ran tests and her blood results showed abnormal readings, including ‘extraordinarily high’ levels of Creatine Kinase, likely indicating a muscle injury or disease.

Despite this, doctors determined the girl suffered from a chest infection or hepatitis.

She appeared slow, floppy, and lethargic.

When Hawaii-born Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise married in 1990 after meeting on the set of the movie Days of Thunder, they instantly became Hollywood’s golden couple.

Back then, Cruise was indisputably the biggest star of the two. It was also the Top Gun actor who made sure that they became a couple. Cruise noted Kidman’s acting talent when she starred in 1989 flick Dead Calm. After that, Tom persuaded the producers of Days of Thunder to make Kidman his counterpart and love interest in that movie.

The second Cruise and Kidman met, sparks flew. According to Kidman, her jaw dropped and she was totally blown away by the energetic and handsome Cruise, who was married to actress Mimi Rogers at the time.

“I had three very strong relationships before I met Tom. But I was never going to get married. Never. But he was just the most incredible, unusual man I’d ever met,” Kidman said.

Tom Cruise described Kidman as the love of his life.

“I’d say it was the show business secretary of the year. It was so hush-hush that even my wife and I did not know about it,” Nicole Kidman’s uncle, Barry Fawcett, told New York Daily News.

Kidman wanted to have children with Cruise right after the wedding, and it seemed like her dreams were set to come true faster than many expected.

Turned to adoption

Sadly, however, she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 1990 at the age of 23. Cruise and Nicole couple lost their baby. After that, they decided to look at other options.

They adopted two children in daughter Isabella Jane Cruise (born 1992) and son Connor Cruise (born 1995), both when they were only months old.

For Nicole, it felt quite natural to adopt.

A few years ago, their decision to feature braless news anchors stirred up emotions — and to this day, people are still debating whether it was bold and innovative or simply crossing the line.

In an era where women have fought hard for equality in the workplace, respect for their dignity, and an end to being objectified in the media, an Albanian news program reignited the controversy with a stunningly bold choice.

Back in 2016, TV channel ZJARR garnered headlines by using a provocative format — featuring scantily clad anchors — to attract viewers and boost ratings.

The TV presenters wore open jackets with nothing underneath while delivering the latest news. It sparked a significant buzz in Albania, a small and conservative country in the Balkans, Europe.

According to the TV station’s owner, the approach was a success — and perhaps even a necessity, considering Albania’s history.

For 40 years, the country was held hostage by Enver Hoxha, a notorious communist dictator who ruled from 1944 until his death in 1985. His regime was defined by strict censorship, civil oppression, and an atmosphere of social mistrust.

”In Albania, where the news is manipulated by political powers, the audience needed a medium that would present the information like it is – naked,” Zjarr TV owner Ismet Drishti told AFP in 2016.

”A bit unconventional”

Drishti assured that their hosts’ nudity was a way to demonstrate transparency and impartiality on television.

”We don’t sell sex, we reproduce the news as it is. It’s both symbolic and good publicity,” said Drishti.

Since it was so successful, the owners wanted to expand the concept. For a while, Zjarr TV considered also broadcasting news bulletins in French and English with ”bare information,” following the same model.

The concept also turned the channel’s presenters into major stars. One was Enki Bracaj, 21, who hosted an international news program. Her eye-catching outfits, which often revealed her cleavage, apparently resonated with many viewers, leading to soaring ratings.

”Most agree that her presentation style is a bit unconventional, but we are actively working on that. Honestly, it doesn’t seem to be hurting her viewer ratings at all,” a spokesperson for the channel commented.

Consulted with her parents

Enki Bracaj landed her high-profile job after auditioning with her blouse open, proving she was far from a traditional journalist.

At the time, the young woman studied public relations at her local university. In 2016, she reflected on her decision to go braless during the on-screen testing, saying: ”I simply found a way to put myself ahead in this competitive industry.”

Enki shared her thoughts on standing out: ”It was clear that if I wanted to succeed, I needed to be brave and offer something different.” Enki also mentioned that she consulted with her parents before making her decision, and their support made everything easier.

Fired after Playboy offer

However, there were clear boundaries for what Zjarr TV would tolerate from its news anchors. Officially, Enki left the channel citing dissatisfaction with her salary, but her colleagues hinted at a different story.

The real reason was that when Enki Bracaj accepted a modeling job with Playboy, her employers at the TV station felt she had crossed the line. Nudity and even topless bathing remain taboo in conservative Albania, where about 60 percent of the population is Muslim, according to Daily Mail.

Finding a new star

When the popular Bracaj was fired, the channel needed to find a replacement. They chose the somewhat more experienced 24-year-old presenter, Greta Hoxhaj. Like Enki, she also began working in a state of near undress.

”I worked hard for five years in local television, where I remained unnoticed,” a cheerful and relaxed Hoxhaj told AFP. ”I regret nothing — within three months, I became a star.”

In her everyday life, she typically dressed like other women her age, but every morning at the channel, she transformed into a different persona, donning a revealing, preferably pink jacket to read the news. Her stripped-down look ”is only for television, for information,” she said.

Criticism

Zjarr TV isn’t the only place where female anchors have bared it all. In Venezuela, for instance, a presenter on a news website stripped naked to celebrate the success in the Copa America football championships.

Images from the Albanian channel spread like wildfire, and videos featuring the attractive news anchors went viral on social media. One clip of the unclothed presenters garnered nearly 700,000 views on YouTube and continues to attract attention.

While many internet users were eager to find out where they can watch the controversial program, others are raising their voices to demand greater accountability from the media in the fight for respect and equality.

”It’s pathetic to have accepted such a thing just to be on screen,” commented one online critic, while another called the move ”outrageous” and ”disgustingly sexist.”

Images of Greta Hoxhaj frequently pop up on Facebook, sparking ongoing debates. Sometimes, these discussions expand into a broader conversation about how television presenters dress in general.

”There are too many women on TV whose necklines are way too low on various shows. In the last episode of AGT, the two women wore dresses that were VERY questionable. Now, I don’t care what women wear in their everyday lives, but TV should have better standards,” commented one individual.

However, opinions remain divided.

”I see nothing wrong with this picture. It will make particularly men more attentive to the news,” wrote another person.

”Everyone is free to change the channel”

Interestingly, the response from feminist groups and journalist associations in Albania has been rather muted. Zjarr TV has incited little reaction from these organizations.

“There is a diversity of choice, and everyone is free to change the channel,” said Leonard Olli, a journalist and PR specialist in the capital, Tirana.

Never short on bouquets

And in this case, the star of the show, Hoxhaj herself, appeared only mildly fazed by the criticism. In an interview, Hoxhaj states that she hardly pays attention to the endless comments and compliments directed her way.

In her neighborhood, everyone adores her, showering her with compliments and closely following her career. Many even offer advice for each episode of her TV show. “I receive countless messages in my inbox, and many viewers call in during the ‘Zbardhi’ show to compliment me. There’s nothing more wonderful than that! Plus, I’m never short on bouquets of flowers — not even twice a week!”

They wanted a girl with lots of blonde hair, big boobs, and an hourglass figure. Nevertheless, Catherine went in for the audition and nailed it. CBS hired her that same night.

However, the connection to Dolly Parton was actually there from the start of The Dukes of Hazzard. In the pilot episode, Daisy Duke is even described as knowing the lyrics to all of Dolly Parton’s songs, and early episodes hint that Daisy has dreams of starting a music career herself.

“The character is a conglomeration of many people I know. She is half the wildest girl I ever knew in high school. She is part of a couple of girls I was real close to in Georgia. She’s a lot of Dolly Parton and she’s a lot of me when I was a waitress. She is independent. She is physical. And she can do anything the guys can do,” Catherine explained in 1979.

He once said it was one of the easiest records he’d ever cut, and it sure paid off. The song hit #1 on the country charts in 1980 and even went platinum as a ringtone in 2007.

But here’s the fun part — Waylon’s mom watched The Dukes of Hazzard every week, hoping to catch a glimpse of her son. The problem? The legendary country singer was only heard, not seen! In fact, the only part of him that made it into the opening credits was his hands strumming a guitar. That’s why in the full version of the theme song, Waylon added the cheeky lyric: “You know my mama loves me… but she don’t understand, they keep a-showing my hands, and not my face on TV!”

Years after Waylon’s passing, his beloved General Lee resurfaced in a 2016 eBay auction, complete with his personal letters and documentation. The starting price? Around $77,000 — proof that anything tied to The Dukes of Hazzard still has a special place in fans’ hearts.

Truth about the General Lee

Ready for some fun facts about the legendary General Lee? During the production of The Dukes of Hazzard, a lot of cars were totaled. Replacing the police cars was easy, but finding replacements for the General Lee was a challenge since Dodge had stopped making the Charger. Producers would even stop people on the street if they saw a Charger, offering to buy it on the spot. Over the course of the show, somewhere between 256 and 321 General Lee cars were made and mostly destroyed, according to IMDb.

The iconic orange car, with the Confederate battle flag on its roof, the “GENERAL LEE” logo on the doors, and the famous “01” number, was based on a 1969 Dodge Charger. Fun fact: in the first five Georgia-filmed episodes, there was an additional checkered flag behind the rear window, but it had to be removed because replicating it over and over was too tricky.

The name General Lee came from the Confederate General Robert E. Lee, and it was inspired by the real-life moonshine runners who drove a 1958 Chrysler called Traveler. That was almost the name of the Duke boys’ car too, but the producers figured General Lee had a bit more punch. Oh, and if you’re wondering, the third episode, called Mary Kaye’s Baby, is the only episode in the series in which the General Lee does not appear.

A major plot point in The Dukes of Hazzard was Bo and Luke’s probation, which kept them from leaving Hazzard County legally.

They were replaced by cousins Coy Duke (Byron Cherry) and Vance Duke (Christopher Mayer). The show explained their absence by saying Bo and Luke had left to race professionally in NASCAR. How Flash earned her treats on set

”Let me say this — as much as those guys (Tom and John) were the most charming, sexiest friends and men on the planet and women all over just adored them — they were really like my brothers. Waylon Jennings, the legendary voice behind The Balladeer, died in 2002. Denver Pyle, known as the wise and kindhearted Uncle Jesse, passed in 1997. And James Best, who brought Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane to life, died in 2015. Their legacy lives on through the show and the generations of fans who still love it today.

Will there be a reboot?

Catherine Bach recently opened up about the possibility of returning to her iconic role. When asked about the idea of a Dukes reboot, Catherine said, “Well, you know, shows are a mystical thing at best, because you never know what’s going to work and how things are going to click.”

Jennifer Garner has revealed that she lost a friend to the devastating wildfires that continue to rip across Southern California.

At the time of writing, the death toll is said to have risen to 25, with intensifying winds threatening further destruction in the coming days. The fires, which have terrorized Los Angeles over the past few days, have burned a combined area of 60 square miles, and the return of Santa Ana winds promises conditions that will only serve to fan the flames.

Needless to say, thousands have lost homes, livelihoods, belongings, pets, and hope. Others, tragically, have lost more than that.

Among them is actress Jennifer Garner, who revealed in an interview with MSNBC earlier this week that one of her friends had died in the fires.

The Elektra star is one of the many celebrities who have stepped up to help the relief effort, partnering with a renowned chef to give assistance to impacted communities.

“I did lose a friend who did not get out in time,” Garner, 52, said in an interview. “It’s just — my heart bleeds for my friends. I mean, I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost.”

She continued: “I feel almost guilty walking through my house. Just, you know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?”

Speaking on her loss, Garner finished: “I’m looking at the chimney of somebody that I loved. […] It’s awful — kind of unimaginable.”

As per reports, Garner has joined forces with Chef José Andrés and his organization, World Central Kitchen, to help those communities affected by the blazes.

“I took advantage of a little bit of celebrity privilege and called Chef and said, ‘Please, can I come with you?’” Garner explained.

As stated, the current death toll related to the wildfires stands at 25, though that number is sadly expected to rise. Strong winds are anticipated to hit the LA region later this week, with the National Weather Service warning of a “particularly dangerous situation”.

As of Monday morning, only 14 percent of the Palisades fire (which has torched over 23,000-acres) had been contained. The Eaton fire (responsible for burning more than 14,000 acres in Altadena and Pasadena) is 33 percent contained.

Anthony Mitchell watched helplessly as the raging Los Angeles fires burned through his neighborhood and home, unable to rescue himself or his son – both who used wheelchairs for mobility.

The father was waiting for assistance to evacuate him and Justin, who had cerebral palsy, but the help never came.

Hajime White was going down memory lane, gushing over her father’s response to a Facebook post she shared in April 2021.

“It’s a father/daughter thing you wouldn’t understand. (yes everyone this is my daddy),” she writes in the message, alongside a photo of Anthony Mitchell, 68, and herself.

Eagerly expressing his love for his girl, the devoted father of four writes in the comments section, “She is my heart my soul she is a daddy girl She is everything a father can dream and hope his daughter will be.she makes me proud of her everyday and I am so thankful and proud to be her father and dad (SIC).”

On January 14, 2024, the grieving daughter reshared the post with the new caption: “A father’s love for his daughter is truly special. Thank you, Dad. Although you frequently expressed this sentiment, you also took the time to write it in the comments section of my post for everyone to see.”

Her dad and her younger brother Justin are among the 24 people killed by the devastating California wildfires.

Last conversations

On the morning of January 8, Mitchell made heart-wrenching phone calls to two of his children, explaining that he and his youngest son, Justin, were waiting for help to evacuate.

Mitchell, an amputee with a prosthetic leg, and Justin, who had cerebral palsy, relied on wheelchairs to get around.

Mitchell lived in Altadena, a hard-hit neighbourhood next to Pasadena, with his two sons, Justin and Jordan, the older who alongside trained professionals helped as a caregiver.

But Jordan wasn’t home that week – he was in hospital with sepsis and Mitchell, who lost his leg in 2024 to diabetes, was not able to carry his bedridden son to one of the many cars parked in the driveway to make an escape.

‘Baby, I got to go’

Mitchell had called for an ambulance to assist with the evacuation and assured his only daughter, Hajime, that he and Justin would be okay.

“They’ll get me and your brother,” Arkansas’ Hajime, tells the New York Post of her last conversation with her dad, who was well known and loved in the area he lived for more than 20 years.

“Hopefully they should come soon,” he added, sharing with Hajime, 50, that from his window, he could see the fire was burning quickly through the neighborhood.

But then the conversation was cut short when according to Hajime, flames crept onto the yard of his home.

“Baby, I got to go,” he told his daughter. “The fire just got in the yard.”

That evening, the bodies of the father and son were recovered from the home scorched by the Eaton fire, which is still active more than one week since it was ignited.

‘Cost him his life’

Mitchell’s eldest son, Anthony Jr., knows why his father stayed in the burning home.

“He wasn’t going to leave my brother,” Anthony Jr., 46, told the New York Times. “He would never leave his kids. We were his legacy. We were his diamonds.”

The junior Anthony was one of the two kids he called before the fire ripped through the house that morning.

“Even though he had a missing leg, he did have a prosthetic. He could have got himself in the wheelchair and he could have rolled himself out the fire zone, but he wasn’t going to leave my brother,” Anthony Sr. told NPR. “There was no way my father was going to leave him. He wouldn’t leave any of his kids.”

He adds, “He believed in family, and I think that’s one of the reasons it cost him his life, because he wasn’t going to leave my younger brother.”

Now, Hajime and the family are trying to figure out why help never arrived to get Mitchell and Justin to safety.

“Where was the ambulance?” she said. “Where were the caregivers? Where was everyone at?”

Carlos Herrera, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, told the New York Times that by the time the Eaton fire had broken out on Tuesday, January 7, “all resources were already dedicated to the raging Palisades fire across town.”

Fatal fire

The deadly fire has killed at least 24 people, destroyed more than 12,000 structures and burned more than 60 square miles, “an area larger than Paris,” according to CNN.

As of January 14, officials said the Palisades and Eaton wildfires continue to burn. “Extremely critical fire weather” is forecasted for parts of the region with powerful winds expected to fuel new blazes, further challenging firefighters in their attempts to contain the raging flames.

“Much of Southern California — from San Luis Obispo to San Diego — is at significant risk of rapid fire spread due to life-threatening winds and dangerously low humidity. One less spark equals one less wildfire,” California Fire writes on Facebook.

For 33-year-old bodybuilder Nataliya Kuznetsova, however, keeping in shape looks a little different. The professional Russian female bodybuilder is said to hold the world arm lifting, bench press, and deadlift titles – with one look at her, it’s hard to believe otherwise.

Personally, I think everyone reserves the right to look however they want. Individuals should never be teased for their appearances – how one chooses to dress and shape themselves is, of course, entirely up to them.

Nataliya Kuznetsova, a Russian 29-year-old, holds the world arm lifting, bench press, and deadlift titles – and her entire lifestyle is about improving her muscular and impressive body.

Everything in her life has centered around always becoming stronger in the pursuit of being able to lift more. As a young woman, Nataliya knew what she wanted to do with her life. At 14, she began powerlifting and decided to become a bodybuilder, according to UK site LadBible. When she started her journey, she weighed just 80lbs.

Today, her scale usually shows anywhere between 246–275lbs.

Road to celebrity

There isn’t a lot of information out there concerning Nataliya’s childhood and upbringing. What we do know is that she was born Nataliya Trukhina on the first of July 1991, in Chita, southeast Siberia, Russia.

Growing up, she was very active. She loved training and combat sports in particular. So when she turned 14, Nataliya embarked on a bodybuilding career, going to the gym almost daily.

Under the supervision of coach Alexei Ivanov, a well-known and respected coach in the area, Nataliya was put on a rigorous diet.

The goal for Natalia wasn’t to build a mountain of muscle and compete. Instead, the main target of the gym classes was to get stronger, while attending some mass as a bonus.

But it didn’t take long before people noticed the young girl putting on weight and gaining bigger muscles every day. After a few years, she started signing up for competitions. Nataliya was entirely focused on becoming a bodybuilder, and she did very well in one of her first championships.

As a 17-year-old, she weighed only 150lbs, but was capable of bench-pressing 220lbs. According to Nataliya, this was in the early days of her career while she was still living in Chita. She hadn’t even discovered protein shakes and didn’t know how crucial it was for building muscles. Still, she managed to achieve some amazing results.

Whether it was simply because she discovered protein or not is a matter for others to debate, but to this date, Nataliya has won several championships and set numerous records.

According to The Famous People, the Russian colossus won the 2014 Cup of Eurasia in Vologda, Russia. In 2015, she became the Champion of the Cup Eastern Europe (GPA). 

Nicknamed the World’s Most Muscular Woman, Nataliya holds many records in powerlifting, bench press NAP, and deadlifting. Her bench press record is over 374lbs, and her deadlift record is 530lbs.

According to herself, Nataliya holds the European bench press and deadlift titles. The Russian gym lover is 5’7″ tall and weighs just over 220lbs during the offseason.

“It’s not about being perfect – it’s about showing up, putting in the effort and getting the work done to get you were to envision yourself to be-Everyday is another opportunity to move forward a little more,” she wrote on her Facebook account.

But Nataliya is more than just a powerful bodybuilder with an eye-catching exterior and biceps measuring 18.5 inches.

In 2013, she graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture. She also participated in a “Manon Lescaut” production at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Today she lives in the Russian capital with her husband, bodybuilder Vladislav Kuznetsov. The couple met in 2009 and tied the knot in 2015. Nataliya often posts sweet tributes to her husband, who supports her in whatever challenges she takes on in her life. The couple have no children at the moment, but Nataliya would like to have one in the future.

”Our love story is quite modern. We met on the Internet, more precisely, on Odnoklassniki(a social network service in Russia). For a while, we only talked as friends,” Nataliya said in 2019.

Over the years, Nataliya has fought hard to be able to live on her passion. In the early years of her career, she was almost always short on money.

It was challenging to find sponsors, and she had to take money out of her own pocket to train and compete. In Russia, it wasn’t easy to get contributions or help – but since Nataliya has received quite a lot of attention and gone viral of late, things are looking brighter.

She currently has several sponsors and works with nutrition brands such as Oxytropin and RPS Nutrition.

Likely none of this would have been possible if she hadn’t been active on social media – pictures of her muscular body have been spread like wildfire over the years. Many have seen her face on the Internet – but probably quite a few know who the female goliath is.

“People definitely recognise me. An athletic body can be seen under clothes. Many people recognise me, ask to take a photo with them. Many people even know my name,” she told LadBible.

Nataliya has previously talked the preconceived opinions of other people. Some people call her ugly and refer to her by hurtful names, but she refers to them as children who cry when they meet someone far stronger than them.

“The classical standards and norms are long gone. Even the modeling industry is already ”very different”. My best advisor is a mirror,” she says.

However, she treasures all the love she gets from her numerous fans around the world.

“Most of my Instagram followers are men. They stand for around 75%, and it’s about the same percentage on other social networks. They write a lot. Compliments to an athlete are no different than compliments to a non-athlete,” she said.

Today, she has a whopping one million followers on Instagram. Nataliya, a unique Amazon woman, as she labels herself, constantly updates her fans with sneak-peaks from her everyday life. And of course, her feed is fully packed with gym tips and exercises.

She claims she was at one point tempted to try growth hormones, but ultimately decided they were not for her. However, she’s admitted to using estrogen blockers and other performance enhancers that are banned by most major sporting bodies.

In early 2017, Nataliya announced that she would leave the spotlight and “retire” from powerlifting, but only one and a half years later, she was back for the next big competition in Moscow. She also revealed that she was pursuing a career in coaching and wanted to help others “achieve their potential.”

The Senate Armed Services Committee is scheduled to hold the confirmation hearing on Tuesday morning for Pete Hegseth. Hegseth, who is a veteran and former Fox News host, was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the Secretary of Defense.

As soon as he was nominated, the choice was criticized by Democrats, who raised concerns over his qualifications as well as past allegations against him for misconduct. It seems a background check report for Pete Hegseth, however has turned out as “unremarkable,” which may increase his chances of confirmation.

The findings were released earlier this week and have added more layers to the confirmation process Hegseth will face. While the background check report is not all that is needed to quiet the concerned Democrats, Republican lawmakers have pointed out that this is actually a step in the right direction.

Democrats have for the last few weeks shown their skepticism and concern over Hegseth’s qualifications, saying that he has limited experience in high-level government positions as well as there being allegations of financial mismanagement from his time when he led a veteran-focused nonprofit. There were also allegations of workplace misconduct, all of which have fueled the Democrats’ resistance to his confirmation.

During the hearing on January 14, 2025, the issues of his past controversies were raised by lawmakers. The four-hour hearing passed without any major issues on Hegseth’s end, and he even ended up winning support from Republican Senator Joni Ernst, who holds sway in her party.

Hegseth declined to rule out his opinion on firing top generals in the military. And if he is to be confirmed next week, it will be with a very narrow margin. Among things questioned, he was questioned on his past management experience in light of his nomination to lead at the Pentagon.

The committee is expected to vote for Hegseth as soon as Monday next week, the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration. Hegseth cannot afford to lose the support of more than three senators if the Democrats and the independents unite against him.

LAPD have arrested a man in the Woodland Hills area of 
Los Angeles for suspected arson connected to the Kenneth Fire, which is now advancing toward Hidden Hills and Calabasa.

As per the authorities, the fire, that has since been spreading uncontrollably because of the high winds, was lit on purpose.

“What we know right now is that the incident occurred, started here, and about 20 minutes [to] 30 minutes later a suspect was detained over the Woodland Hills area by citizens.”, a senior lead officer in the LAPD told NewsNation.

The Kenneth Fire has burned more than 950 acres.

According to Fox News, the arrest happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, near the area of Arcos Drive and Galendo Street. The residents in the area witnessed a man on a bicycle carrying a torch and trying to lit old Christmas trees and garbage cans on fire. Luckily, they managed to stop him and even zip-tie him.

They detained the man until police arrived at the scene.

Authorities didn’t reveal the identity of the suspect. They are investigating whether he started other fires as well.

Initially, the LAPD stated, “There’s no way to know at this moment exactly where and how the series of fires started, but an investigation is underway.”

That said, it wasn’t all that long ago that gender roles were far more fixed. There was certain things a woman simply wouldn’t be permitted to do, just as there were certain things a man wouldn’t have dreamed of doing for fear of scorn.

As I said, it feels like we, as a society, are working hard to tackle that with each passing year, but there’s still a lot to be done. At the very least, people are aware these days, and if you needed any proof of that, you need only look as far as a seemingly harmless picture that went viral recently… and drew an abundance of comments in the process.

Be honest now, how many of you believed that all doctors were men and all nurses women when you were little? I’m not ashamed to admit that whenever I pictured a doctor in my head as a child, he was always male. If I went to see the nurse, meanwhile, I’d anticipate being greeted by a female.

Once upon a time in history that really was the case, barring a few exceptions. The medical industry has, of course, adapted with the times, and these days you more or less have an equal chance of being treated by a male or a female when you see a doctor or nurse.

As such, when one account on X posted a picture of two small children dressed up as a doctor and a nurse respectively, it proved to be quite the controversial topic. In the image, a little boy is wearing a green uniform with the message “Doctor In Training” on his back, while he holds hands with a little girl wearing a pink uniform adorned with the text “Nurse In Training”.

Just a little harmless fun, right? Well, while the owner of the account that posted the image probably thought so, it turned out that quite a lot of people had quite. a lot to say.

In fact, most of the comments beneath the image hit out at the fact that the image was a harmful example of stereotyping, not only with regards to the text the children were wearing on their backs, but also because of the colors of each one’s uniform.

As stated, the roles of doctors and nurses these days are filled by people of both sexes, and so promoting the idea that women are more likely to become nurses and men more likely to become doctors can be interpreted as inappropriate to some people.

If you ask me, the image in question is just a bit of fun, and people shouldn’t always read too much into things before exploding online. Still, people have a right to express their opinions, and since there was such a strong backlash regarding the above image, I guess it’s not right of me to belittle their reactions.
